Can my parents kick me out if i pay them rent?

I live with my parents and they charge me rent. They moved someone else into the house and told me that I need to share my room. The new person was going through my personal effects and I complained to my parents about it. Now my parents want me to me to move out tomorrow and all my stuff is outside on the curb. Is this legal for them to do? Or do they have to file a proper eviction notice?
