Should i go surfing for my birthday?

Okay, my favorite thing in the whole world is riding and my horses but most of my friends are scared of horses so i have to settle for my second fave thing, surfing. So for my birthday party do you think a barbeque on the beach is a good idea and i could rent boards for my friends? Yeah or no? and if no, do you have any other ideas?
