Do most vegetarians believe in evolution?

I would think that those who love and feel compassionate towards animals would be more humble to accept the fact that human and chimpanzees are cousins and we both share a common ancestor 6 million years ago. Only those who think that human are special would be too arrogant to accept such a fact.
